"At the level of your experience, of your functioning in the world, your mind is all you have. Every relationship you have, every experience you have is going to be as good or bad as your mind is in that context." - Sam Harris
We've partnered with Abby Lou Art once again to create 'Mind Bloom', in two variants, LE 100 each.
We have always held mental health and personal growth as a pillar of our group, and with the challenges everyone has faced over the last year, taking time for ones' own self is more important than ever. Our minds are like gardens, and must be watered with positive energy and weeded of negative energy to blossom to their fullest extent. In order to fully bloom, they must be tended to with love and patience.
Mind Bloom is dedicated to our FMF members Michael and Brittany Lewis. In June of 2020, Britt was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cervical cancer, which tragically took her life in April. For the last year of her life before her diagnosis, Brittany worked with the non-profit Neurohope, a neuro rehab and wellness center in Indiana. Neurohope shared the following in memory of Brittany:
"Brittany touched so many lives at Neurohope, none more than the many patients she devoted her career to help. She first joined Neurohope, not as a therapist, but as a volunteer on our special events committee. She understood our mission of helping those in need and chose to volunteer her time to help, long before a job offer existed. That's who Brittany is.
Our prayers remain with the entire Cottingham and Lewis families as they seek strength during these trying times.
Her husband has shared that services will be private, and in lieu of flowers, Brittany requested donations be made in her name to Neurohope. With his blessing, we would like to share that these gifts will be earmarked for the 'Brittany Fund', and will be used exclusively to cover therapy costs for patients in need of special financial assistance."
10% of proceeds from all Mind Bloom pins will go to Neurohope in honor of Brittany, and another 10% of will go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
